This course is designed to help science students communicate more effectively in English, by developing their interest and confidence in English, and by teaching writing skills for research reports and publications. 
授業のねらい・到達目標
The goal is for students to build confidence in spoken English on general scientific themes and move on to specific oral communication for presentations and conferences, while also improving ability to write up research for reporting or publication. 
授業の方法
Students will read sample texts on general scientific themes, discuss their impressions of the contents, write up samples of their own research using scientific vocabulary and appropriate grammar, and make presentations based on their reports.

The textbook for this class is now out of print, however, some sections of the book as well as other readings and original worksheets will be provided by the instructor. Students should have an electronic dictionary and a B5 size metal ring notebook.
