授業テーマ Studying language through literature in order to develop overall English skills.
授業のねらい・到達目標 By actively engaging in reading, writing, speaking and listening tasks that focus on literary works, students will increase their vocabularies and strengthen their abilities to speak and write about more complex things.
授業の方法 Classes in the first few weeks will resemble those of the Spring Semester. After that, classes will focus more on close reading, interpreting, and responding to literary texts. Students will complete various writing tasks, short presentations, dramatizations, and essays in order to deepen their understanding of the stories and the important issues they raise. In turn, this will strengthen students’ overall English abilities, as well as prepare them for more advanced English literature seminars.
