| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | By concentrating on reading Ruth Ozeki’s novel My Year of Meats, this course aims to help students understand how contemporary English-language literature addresses issues that transcend the nation state. Students will improve their abilities in reading, participating in discussions, completing various writing assignments, giving presentations, and writing a final essay. |
| 授業の方法 | For each class we will read about 35 pages of the novel, and complete short homework assignments which will help students to understand the novel. In class, students will discuss key questions, characters, and themes in small groups and as a class, as well as give short presentations. All of these activities will help prepare students to write a final essay. |
