History of Japan （日本の歴史）

授業テーマ	This series of lecture attempts to have an outlook of hitorical flow of Japan in several different areas. We will focus on the flow of mental/spiritual evolution, that of medical knowledge and techniques, that of religion mainly concerning on Buddhism, that of modern Japan and that of sex culture.
授業のねらい・到達目標	We attempt to have a general idea of historycal dynamism which is consisted of mingled events and incidents in various different areas. We also try to understand that it is individual persona those who create such dynamism. By over looking several flows in different fields in Japan, we will learn the history of people in Japan in continuum.
授業の方法	This series will be held in a lecture style. All the lectures will be categorized under some larger themes. Students will be required to submit some short essays on several themes.
事前学修・事後学修，授業計画コメント	There is no preperation for each lecture. However, I would introduce you several reference books during the lesson. It would be preferable if you read some of them during the course. Also studesnts will be required to write some short essays during the term and one long essay for the main markings at the end of the course. It would be preferable for you to start thinking over what to write at the end and to start collecting meterials for the final essay from the early stage.
