Intercultural communication theory: What is culture? How is culture measured? What are the differences between Japanese culture and other countries' cultures'? How can we avoid miscommunication with people from other cultures? Am I typical Japanese? You will discover the answers to these questions and more.
Do you know where your blind-spots are?! We look at cultural values from different points of view to increase self- and other-awareness. To create intercultural synergy we need to be able to voice our own opinion, consider other people's different opinions and create common ground.
Mini, interactive lectures combine with student-led discussion & presentations to build a practical understanding of intercultural communication theory and help make intercultural communication intuitive.
