| 授業概要 | Students will continue their exposure to Victorian literature by studying a novel, the iconic genre of the period. |

| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | Can read The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890) as a representative text of the late Victorian age (1881-1901). Can understand it. Can gain a broad understanding of the late Victorian context in which it was written. この科目は文理学部（学士（文学））のディプロマポリシーDP2,DP4,DP5,DP6及びカリキュラムポリシーCP7,CP9に対応しています。 |
| 授業の方法 | Students will read the novel and summarize its chapters for homework; then complete comprehension activities, listen to brief lectures, watch a dramatization of the book, and discuss the content in class in order to consolidate the material. They are also expected to review all the content necessary for the weekly quizzes. Finally, they should spend 1 hour to complete preparation and homework for each class. |
