授業概要	Students will be introduced to Victorian literature (1837-1901) by exposing them to some of the most famous fairy tales written during the early (1837-60) and middle (1861-80) periods of that era.
授業のねらい・到達目標	Can read some of the first texts of children's literature ever published in the English language. Can understand them. Can gain a broad understanding of the early and middle Victorian context in which they were written. この科目は文理学部（学士（文学））のディプロマポリシーDP2,DP4,DP5,DP6及びカリキュラムポリシーCP7,CP9に対応しています。
授業の方法	Students will read Victorian fairy tales, along with some criticism, and summarize them for homework; then complete comprehension activities, listen to brief lectures, watch media, and discuss the content in class in order to consolidate the material. They are also expected to review all the content necessary for the weekly quizzes. Finally, they should spend 1 hour to complete preparation and homework for each class.
