授業概要 | The final semester of Academic English continues academic writing skills in the first three weeks with writing a research essay. The semester is again divided into the Writing Unit, the Linguistics Unit, and the Literature Unit. |

授業の方法 | Students learn the basics of writing a 3- to 4-page research essay. They also listen to a conversation on individual differences in language learning and a short lecture on motivation, and answer comprehension questions. They will discuss relevant themes, carry out vocabulary and grammar exercises, perform interpretive tasks, and write a 3- or 4-page research essay. Students then read two short stories, complete vocabulary and grammar tasks, then perform interpretive tasks that require students to respond to the theme and conflicts, and prepare a dramatization and a group presentation. Finally, they should spend 1 hour to complete preparation and homework for each class. |
