授業概要	You will learn to understand what people say and how they say it; that is, you will improve your listening comprehension, and also, you will be more aware of what specific language is used to manage conversations You will then use both guided and freer speaking exercises to practice the specific language in real world conversations.
授業のねらい・到達目標	-can start conversations and keep them going -can ask for clarification -can use falling and rising intonation correctly -can confirm/correct information -can give polite negative answers -can use the contraction of did you -can make and respond to suggestions -can show interest -can use intonation in questions -can express agreement -can check understanding この科目は文理学部（学士（文学））のディプロマポリシーDP2,DP4,DP5及びカリキュラムポリシーCP5,CP8に対応しています。
授業の方法	-You will do listening activities alone or with a partner. Speaking practice will be in pairs or groups. -We will finish most of the textbook, which has 15 classes. -Try to speak English as much as possible in class. -Students will spend one hour to complete preparation and homework for each class.
履修条件	①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。 ②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、外国語教育センターで振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。 ③「英語1」（前期）と「英語2」（後期）は同一教員による同一時限のクラスを履修すること。 ④卒業に必要な外国語科目として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科目を履修すること。

成績評価の方法及び基準	授業内テスト(60%)、授業参画度(20%)、Homework(20%) 1. Try to speak English at all times. 2. If you miss class, it is your responsibility to contact your classmates to find out what homework you must do for the next class. 3. Students participation will be measured by group presentation once a semester. 4. In-class examination will be measured by mid-term and term-end tests.
