授業概要 This class is coordinated with English 1 and students will continue to develop their communication skills acquired in the spring semester.
授業のねらい・到達目標 This course aims to equip students with the communicative skills they need to feel comfortable speaking and listening to English in a variety of situations. Students will participate in activities designed to improving their listening comprehension and ability to make themselves understood in spoken English, including formal and informal conversations.

この科目は文理学部(学士(文学))のディプロマポリシーDP2,DP4,DP5及びカリキュラムポリシーCP5,CP8に対応しています。
授業の方法 Students will practice the authentic model conversations in the textbook in the form of role plays. In addition to the textbook, we will use supplementary materials to encourage students to communicate effectively. This skill building exercises will be done in class in the form of individual, group and pair work activities with the use of audio and video materials.

Students are supposed to spend 1 hour to complete preparation and homework on each class.
履修条件 ①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。
②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、外国語教育センターで振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。
③「英語1」(前期)と「英語2」(後期)は同一教員による同一時限のクラスを履修すること。
④卒業に必要な外国語科目として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科目を履修すること。

1 Students write and present to the class what they did during their summer vacation. Question and answer session in class.

2 Chapter 6 - Teaching Aids - vocabulary review, keynote reading, important phrases/words in the key note reading, listening activity.
【事前学習】Preparation - students read page 30 and do the exercises at home. Students read page 30 and do the exercises at home.
【事後学習】Students think of important teaching aids to be used in the classroom.
3 Chapter 6 continued. Keeping a class journal, discussion topics.
【事前学習】Preparation - review the chapter done in class at home
【事後学習】Read keynote reading on page 34.
4 Chapter 7 - Using the Tablet Computer in Class - vocabulary review, reading passage and follow up exercises.
【事前学習】Preparation - read page 34 at home.
【事後学習】Write answers for the discussion topics on page 37.
5 Chapter 7 continued - listening activity, keeping a class journal.
【事前学習】Preparation - homework assignment.
【事後学習】Read keynote reading on page 38.
6 Chapter 8 - Utilizing the Internet as Teaching Resources - vocabulary review, keynote reading.
【事前学習】Preparation - find the difficult vocabulary in the reading passage.

Please bring an English-English dictionary and a notebook.
Students are required to spend at least an hour per week studying the textbook, class materials and listen to the CD in order to
prepare for the next class and also review materials studied in previous classes.
成績評価の方法及び基準 授業内テスト(80%)、授業参画度(20%)
Students’ participation will be measured by attitude.
