| 授業概要 | The primary goal of this course is develop the students listening and speaking skills with a focus on communication. With a combined content and skills-based syllabus, the course provides students with the opportunity to improve their conversation, discussion and presentation skills. They will be able to listen to a variety of TEDtalks on interesting topics, and develop their note-taking skills as they do so. |
| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | By the end of this course, students will be able to actively participate in small discussions on various interesting topics. They will be also be able to present effectively on short topics. They will also be able to use the necessary topic vocabulary as well as a variety of discourse functions such as: leading a discussion, reacting to other people opinions (through either agreeing or disagreeing), checking their comprehension and taking the floor by interrupting. この科目は文理学部のDP及びCPの2, 3, 6 に対応している。 |
| 授業の方法 | 演習 The students are expected to prepare for each class individually by completing the online language practice activities provided by the textbook. During each class students will first listen to the TEDtalk all together as a class before splitting into small groups to complete the short communication and discussion activities. Every three weeks students will be required to present a short talk. For this short talk the students will be required to prepare an outline, presentation script and visual aid. The talk will be assessed by according to the level of preparation involved and delivery or performance of the presentation. |
| 履修条件 | ①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。 ②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、外国語教育センターで振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。 ③「英語1」（前期）と「英語2」（後期）は同一教員による同一時限のクラスを履修すること。 ④卒業に必要な外国語科目として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科目を履修すること。 |
