授業テーマ | To help students improve the basics of effective communication as part of comprehensive ESL study. |

授業のねらい・到達目標 | The second term will be spent in improving discourse strategies. Topics for limited conversation and communication are listed below. We will also rely on outside material from the Internet and mass media. If time permits real English samples will be brought into class. |
授業の方法 | This will be a more intensive course than many students are used to. Work outside of class is mandatory and students will have to submit work via the Internet. |

成績評価の方法及び基準 | 試験(40%)、平常点(10%)、授業内テスト(10%)、授業参画度(10%)、blogs, discussions and online work(20%)、presentations(10%) Parts of the class will be held via Blackboard--an interactive teaching tool provided by CHS. All students will need to know how accesthe campus internet by which they will have to participate in blogs, homework assignments, and online discussions. Permission to access the campus internet is issued by the computer center. There is no monetary outlay required by the students. |
