授業テーマ	Gaining practice and confidence in writing a variety of forms.
授業のねらい・到達目標	This course is designed to give students opportunities to write a variety of different assignments. Students will write short articles each week, similar to articles found in magazines. Students will share their work with classmates and at the end of the term complete their own magazine with an original title.
授業の方法	Students will be given a prompt each week for writing. Time will be given to students to write in class, while homework will be to revise writing and to generate ideas for future assignments. We will have a new topic or theme each week. Students will also be asked to discuss their writing, to discuss classmates’ writing, and to offer written feedback.
履修条件	・同一教員・同一時限で前期と後期を対にして履修すること。・前期の初回授業時に受講希望者が定員を超過した場合、人数調整をするので、初回の授業に必ず出席すること。履修の許可を得た上で、履修登録をすること。
事前学修・事後学修，授業計画コメント	Students will be expected to review and revise their own writing as homework outside of class. Students will also be asked to read magazines in English or Japanese in or to help them generate ideas for their own approach to the weekly assignments.

成績評価の方法及び基準	平常点(30%)、レポート(70%) Students with 5 unexcused absences will fail the course.

備考	FIRST YEAR STUDENTS MAY NOT TAKE THE COURSE. RETURNEE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN ADDITIONAL WORK.
