授業テーマ	This course should be viewed as a confidence builder. Students who take this course will have ample opportunity to use own knowledge as well as express own opinions and ideas on a broad range of topics.
授業のねらい・到達目標	The purpose of this course is to build confidence using both spoken and written English within general and scientific themes. This may include making group PowerPoint presentations, etc. Here, students should not worry about their English levels nor making mistakes as mistakes are a very important part of the learning process.

教科書	No text will be set for this course. Readings and other material will be provided through handouts. Students should also be prepared to use English - English dictionaries to aid understanding and building of passive and active vocabulary. Cell-phones should be firmly placed in bags out of sight or the cell phones will be confiscated.
成績評価の方法及び基準	レポート(20%)、授業参画度(80%) Grades will be based on student participation, ability, attendance and reports. As no formal test will be set, students should be aware that performance and interection combined with typed reports will also determine the grade to be received.
