| 授業概要 | This course uses high interest content (i.e., global, information technology, social and economic issues as well as manga, anime and computer gaming) to build on students’ daily conversation and academic spoken English ability. Students engage, analyze and express their opinions on topics of their choice and develop their discussion and presentation skills by focusing on roles and strategies. |
| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | The goal of this course is to develop students’ speaking ability to - Express their opinions about topics of interest to them - To analyze and research their chosen topics using various online media sources - To develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills - To engage and participate in discussions, presentations and debates. この科目は文理学部のDP及びCPの3, 4, 6 に対応している。 |
| 授業の方法 | The teaching method is content and language integrated (CLIL) learning which focuses on high interest content to improve students’ English speaking ability (both daily conversation and academic) and has a focus on pair and group work for students to engage and to brainstorm ideas, to express their opinions, and do online research. |
| 履修条件 | ・同一教員・同一時限で前期と後期を対にして履修すること。 ・前期の初回授業時に受講希望者が定員を超過した場合、人数調整をするので、初回の授業に必ず出席すること。履修の許可を得た上で、履修登録をすること。 |

| 成績評価の方法及び基準 | レポート:Blackboard Assignments(20%)、授業内テスト:Blackboard Discussion and Presentation(70%)、授業参画度:Participation(10%) Students' participation is measured by speaking English as much as possible and cooperating in pair and group work in class. |
