授業概要 | This class will focus on English listening, reading and writing. An emphasis will be placed on societal and cultural issues of English speaking countries. Through a variety of task-based activities, students will not only improve their English skills, they will also have an opportunity to explore various topics in English. |
授業のねらい・到達目標 | This course is designed to increase confidence, fluency and accuracy in English listening, reading and writing. The atmosphere of this class will provide a positive, encouraging, and collaborative workshop environment in which students will be able to challenge themselves to attain a higher level of English competency. Students will be able to explain the current state of culture, values, politics, etc of the world (A-2-1). Student will be able to explain and present issues and problems based on hypothesis and critical thinking (A-3-1). Also, students will be able to communicate freely with various people and establish good relationships with others (A-6-1). この科目は文理学部のDP及びCPの2, 3, 6 に対応している。 |
授業の方法 | 演習 Students will participate in a variety of activities online and in the classroom. Materials for Week 1 - 7 will be on Blackboard. From Week 8 - 15, classes will be held in the classroom. Students should be prepared to spend approximately one hour per week to complete preparation and homework. For each assignment, feedback will be given in the form of written comments by the instructor. Students who live abroad, far away from the campus, or students permitted by CHS, departments they belong to, or class teachers: Complete assignments given on Blackboard each week. |
履修条件 | ①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。 ②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、外国語教育センターで振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。 ③「英語1」(前期)と「英語2」(後期)は同一教員による同一時限のクラスを履修すること。 ④卒業に必要な外国語科目として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科目を履修すること。 |

成績評価の方法及び基準 | weekly assignments 50%, in-class activities 50%(100%) Student participation will be measured by weekly assignments and in-class activities 対⾯授業に参加できない場合の条件を満たし遠隔で参加した場合、課題の提出によって評価する。 小テストや授業内試験を受けられない場合、Blackboardを介した課題提出によって評価する。期日については都度、Blackboardで告知する。 |

備考 | Each week, students will be asked to review their work and will prepare for the next week's class. The preparation will vary each week and will include be different, reading handouts given by the instructor, writing reports, doing research and preparing for quizzes and presentations. |
