| 授業概要 | Ondaatje's Warlight combines poetic evocation of 1940s life in London during the Blitz with post-war spy thriller, as the protagonist Nathaniel investigates the murder of his mother Rose, an intelligence operative for Special Operations Executive. It casts doubt on the mythology of heroic popular resistance , and analyses the displacements and repressions of collective memory in confronting the legacy of war. |

| 授業の方法 | 演習 Students should spend about three hours a week doing the reading and writing assignments. Review of preceding class Student presentation (if scheduled) Introductory lecture Class worksheet Assignment for following week Students who live abroad and far away from the campus. Also, students who are permitted by CHS or departments they belong to, or students who are permitted by class teachers will be required to complete and submit weekly assignments. These assignments will be sent to students by the instructor via email. |
