| 授業概要 | This class focuses on how to research and write an extended essay on an applied linguistics theme. |
| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | Students will be able to understand the research methods necessary to develop a research theme of their interest culminating in a 25-page research paper.(A-1-4、A-3-4、A-4-4、A-5-4、A-6-4、A-8-4) この科目は文理学部（学士（文学））のディプロマポリシーDP1 、DP3、DP4、DP5、DP6、DP8、及び、カリキュラムポリシーCP1、CP3、CP4、CP5、CP6、CP8、に対応している。 A-1-4学修から得られた豊かな知識と教養に基づいて, 自己の高い倫理観を英語学・英語圏文学が直面する倫理的課題に適切に運用することができる。 A-3-4言語現象や歴史的事象を既存の知識にとらわれることなく, 語学的根拠や批評理論に基づいて批判的, 論理的に考察し, その本質を理解しようと他者に説明することができる。 A-4-4英語学・英語圏文学に潜む問題を発見し, 専門的知識に加えて独自性を持って, 解決することができる。 A-5-4与えられたどのような問題に対しても, あきらめずに, それを解決するために仲間と共に必要な情報を収集・分析し, 用いることができる。 A-6-4本学部のスケールメリットを生かし, どのような状況においても多種多様な背景を持つ人々の説明の趣旨を理解し, 自分の専門的知識を正しく分かりやすく提供することができる。 A-8-4学修活動に関する自己分析のほか, 他者からの評価を謙虚に受け止め, 今後の学修活動に生かすことができる。 |

| 授業の方法 | Students will engage with the content of the research themes through various readings and discussions. Students should spend more than 1 hour to complete the preparation and homework for each class. Feedback will be provided in class or online when assignments and drafts are returned. |
