| 授業概要 | Theme: Understanding the interactions between human activities and the natural environment in English. This course is designed to provide understanding of the fundamental concepts of environmental science, evaluating the impact of human activities on ecosystems and natural resources, and exploring solutions for addressing environmental challenges. Topics covered include ecosystems, biodiversity, climate change, pollution, and sustainable development, Communication of students in terms of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English will be advanced through the lectures and assignments. 本授業では人間活動と自然環境の相互作用を英語で理解することを目的とする。地球環境科学の基本概念を理解し、人間活動が生態系や天然資源に与える影響を評価し、環境問題に取り組むための解決策を探る。 授業では生態系、生物多様性、気候変動、汚染、持続可能な開発などのトピックを扱う。 |
| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | To develop communication skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking using terminologies related to environmental science in English . Finally, to be able to present and write reports on topic related to environmental science. To understand basic concepts in environmental science in English (Acquire reading and listening skill) To communicate contents in environmental science in English (Acquire writing and speaking skill) To discuss the topics related to environmental science in English (Acquire to use English effectively) 授業のねらい︓地球科学に関連する⽤語やコミュニケーションで用いる英語を読み、書き、聞き、話すことを通して基礎的な英語コミュニケーション能⼒を養い、最終的には英語でプレゼンテーションを行えるようになる。 到達⽬標︓ （1）地球科学に関連する事柄を英語で理解する（読む能力、聞く能力を身につける）。 （2）地球科学に関連する事柄を英語で伝える（書く能力、話す能力を身につける）。 （3）地球科学に関連する話題に関して英語で対話する（英語でやり取りする能力を身につける）。 学科プログラム（JABEE認定プログラム含む）の学習・教育到達⽬標「（E）コミュニケーション・プレゼンテーション能⼒を⾝につける」（1-15）に寄与する。特に、本授業では、JABEE認定基準を考慮し、英語を用いて最低限の情報や意見のやり取りができる能力を身につけることを目指す。 ※括弧内の数字は授業計画内の講義番号 日本大学教育憲章との関係： 親しい人々とコミュニケーションを取り、専門的知識について正しく説明することができる（A-6-2）。 この科⽬は⽂理学部（学⼠（理学））のディプロマポリシーDP6, 及びカリキュラムポリシーCP6コミュニケーション⼒に対応しています。 |

| 授業の方法 | Lecture materials will be distributed at the beginning of the class each week. Students will go through them, answer questions and discuss in the classroom. Crossword/ word search/ labeling diagrams will be used to improve the vocabulary. Doing an individual presentation and writing a report based on it will be one of the assignments. 講義資料は毎週の授業開始時に配布する。それらに事前に目を通しておき、授業で質問に答え、議論をおこえるようにする。クロスワード、単語検索、ラベリング図などを用いて語彙力を高める。個人プレゼンテーションとそれに基づくレポート作成も課題である。 |
