授業の形態 | By default, this course will be held in a face-to-face format. However, it is subject to change in response to significant global issues, if requested by the University. Basically, the course is conducted in a face-to-face format. However, it may be changed at the request of the university as a response to serious international issues. |
授業概要 | This course offers a comprehensive examination of contemporary Japanese society within the framework of globalization. Throughout the program, we delve into pivotal issues in present-day Japanese society, concentrating on themes related to work, education, gender, and population dynamics. By actively addressing critical concerns and analyzing data, students will enhance their understanding of Japan from a global standpoint. This involves recognizing the shifts that have transpired and gaining insights into the ongoing challenges present in modern Japanese society. |
授業のねらい・到達目標 | You will be expected to critically engage with both scholarly discussions as well as basic statistics on various topics in Japanese society, and demonstrate your understanding through assignments, collaborative group work, and class presentations. Students are expected to critically participate in academic discussions and basic statistics on various topics in Japan society and demonstrate their understanding through assignments, collaborative group work, and class presentations. This course corresponds to DP and CP 1 in the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences Students are able to understand and explain ethical issues based on the wealth of knowledge and culture gained from their experience and studies. 授業の方法 | Students learn to read academic and media texts in English and communicate on the several topics covered in the course. Students will be given online access to reading materials and will need to participate in discussion related to them. Students need to attend the classes and participate actively to receive credit.
