授業概要 This course is designed to enhance communicative competence for intermediate learners (CEFR B1). This course adopts the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) approach incorporating a learning by doing philosophy, rooted in second language acquisition research. Students actively engage in meaningful negotiation and problem-solving, enhancing language acquisition.
授業のねらい・到達目標 By the end of this course, students will be able to:
・communicate effectively by using their language resources
・grow motivation and confidence in sharing ideas
・develop foundational vocabulary and grammar knowledge for communication
・acquire key language skills such as describing, narrating, synthesizing, and inferring
・express a basic understanding of the Task-Based Language Learning (TBLT) approach to teaching English
・express a basic understanding of the Ludic Language Learning (LLT) approach to teaching English

授業の形式 演習
授業の方法 Students will engage in language learning tasks embedded in a game-like structure. These tasks require students to communicate information which describes, and narrates a variety of situations that require negotiation with a classmate. Negotiating meaning with an interlocutor is considered a primary mechanism for acquiring a non-native langangue. These tasks require problem-solving, also considered a mechanizm for acquiring a non-native langangue. Finally, these tasks are ludic in nature and aim to assist the learning process by being enjoyable.
