この授業は、原則として対面式で行われる。必ずCanvas LMSでのアップテートを参考にし、分からないことがあるときは教員に直接メールで取り合わせをすること。
授業概要 This course is tailored for the needs of postgraduate students contemplating a career in academia. We discuss the methodology and practice of teaching academic writing in English to undergraduate students. We read academic texts concerning peer-tutoring and writing centers. Ultimately, the course's aim is to train students into becoming proficient tutors in academic writing.
授業のねらい・到達目標 Students should acquire self-confidence in their ability to teach academic writing in the future. They should achieve an in-depth understanding of academic writing by:
(1) Mastering the structure of academic essays;
(2) Knowing how to choose and use evidence and sources;
(3) Understanding the rhetoric of academic writing;
(4) Making up their own ideas about the purpose of academic writing.
授業の形式 演習
授業の方法 Students learn to read academic texts in English and communicate on the topic. Via Canvas LMS, students have access to reading materials and need to submit short assignments every week (short essays on the reading materials). Students need to attend the classes and participate in the live discussions.
The final essay also needs to be submitted via Canvas LMS.
毎週授業に出席し、ディスカッションに参加する。Canvas LMSを通して教材を配信するが、事前に受講生はその教材を学修し、所定の方法で課題の解答やエッセイーを提供する。課題やエッセーのフィードバックは毎回Canvas LMSで行う。また、授業に欠席する場合は、必ず教員の許可を得ること。対面参加ができない場合は、事前に教員の許可を得てズームでのリモート参加と課題提出が可能。フィードバックは毎回Canvas LMSにて提供される。
