授業概要 The course is an introduction to Japan's natural environmental features and regional geography.
授業のねらい・到達目標 This course is intended to provide a geographical overview of Japan.
In the first semester, we focus on Japan’s natural environment. The first part introduces in a systemic manner Japan’s location, its tectonics and geology, landforms, climate and weather patterns, vegetation and wildlife. Special lectures on natural hazards and on natural resources will enhance the students’ overall image of Japan. The second part is dedicated to the regional geography of Japan, highlighting its north-south and east-west regional disparities. In an interactive class format, students will acquire knowledge on the diversity of Japan’s natural environment, the regional distribution of Japan’s natural features and will be able to understand the major challenges faced by the country in the 21st century in terms of natural hazards and their potential socio-economic impact.
この科目は日本大学教育憲章ルーブリック(A-1-1、A-2-1)に対応しています。
Students will be able to: master the geographic, systemic way of thinking and geographic approach (A-1-1), understand the regional characteristics and the overall picture of Japan’s natural environment (A-2-1) and to analyze natural geographical phenomena from a regional perspective and at different scales (A-1-1).
この科目は文理学部(学士(地理学)のDP及びCPDP1, DP2, CP1, CP2に対応しています.
