| 授業概要 | This course builds on the skills developed in the first semester and further strengthens students’ academic English speaking and writing abilities. Students will review three fundamental paragraph types—opinion, descriptive, and process paragraphs—with particular emphasis on developing clear and well-supported opinion paragraphs. As the semester progresses, students will learn how to organize multiple paragraphs into a basic five-paragraph essay, including an introduction, body paragraphs with clear topic sentences and supporting details, and a conclusion. Through structured practice and active classroom participation, students will continue refining both their written and oral communication skills. |
| 授業のねらい・到達目標 | By the end of this course, students will be able to: Improve their academic English speaking and writing skills, with particular emphasis on structured paragraph development and organized oral communication. Expand and accurately use academic vocabulary and grammar in both spoken and written English. Construct clear and logically organized opinion paragraphs with appropriate supporting reasons and examples. Produce a basic five-paragraph essay with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. | 授業の方法 | This course uses an active, student-centered approach to learning English. Students will engage with textbook content and instructor-provided materials through pair work, small-group discussions, structured writing activities, and whole-class interaction. Class time will include guided review of paragraph types (opinion, descriptive, and process), collaborative analysis of model paragraphs, and step-by-step development of essay structure. Students will participate in brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and peer feedback activities as they work toward producing a basic five-paragraph essay. Students are expected to actively use English during class and contribute regularly to discussions and collaborative tasks. Ongoing feedback will be provided during class to support improvement in fluency, organization, vocabulary, grammar, and clarity. |
| 履修条件 | ①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。 ②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、GRECで振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。 ③「英語1」(前期)と「英語2」(後期)は同一教員による同一時限のクラスを履修すること。 ④卒業に必要な外国語科目として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科目を履修すること。 |
