授業概要	This course is for beginner-level students to further develop everyday English communication skills. Students will practice speaking, listening, and writing in English through textbook-based activities, podcast-based listening tasks, and interactive classroom exercises. The goal is to strengthen fluency, comprehension, and confidence in expressing ideas clearly in common social and academic situations. In addition, students will study the Academic Word List (AWL) each week to develop academic vocabulary recognition and comprehension. Students will be tested regularly on the AWL. The instructor will provide access to the weekly word list. The course also incorporates the BBC Learning English podcast series The London Letter Challenge to support listening comprehension, grammar awareness, and exposure to real-world English use.
授業のねらい・到達目標	Learning Outcomes By the end of this course, students will be able to: Develop basic spoken and listening communication skills in English through structured speaking activities, listening tasks, and interactive classroom exercises. Understand and use English in common social and academic situations, including classroom discussions and short spoken interactions. Improve listening comprehension and grammar awareness through regular engagement with English audio materials, including the BBC Learning English podcast series The London Letter Challenge. Expand academic vocabulary recognition and comprehension by studying and applying items from the Academic Word List (AWL). Produce short spoken and written texts in English, including simple presentations and written assignments, to express ideas and opinions with increasing confidence. の⽬は⽂のDPびCPの2, 3, 6 にしています。
授業の形式	講義、演習、実習
授業の方法	Exercise method Students are supposed to spend 1 hour to complete preparation and homework on each class. Feedback will be provided in class or online when assignments are returned.
履修条件	①英語習熟度別クラス分けテストを受け、その結果により振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。 ②英語習熟度別クラス分けテスト未受験の者は、GRECで振り分けられたクラスで履修すること。振り分けられたクラス以外での履修はできません。 ③「英語1」（前期）と「英語2」（後期）は同⼀教員による同⼀時限のクラスを履修すること。 ④卒業に必要な外国語科⽬として「英語」を選択した場合、必ずこの科⽬を履修すること。
